Stone Mountain Lodge
Please note that even though Kleinrivier is still in the grip of a drought we have reopened the lodge to guests. We will transport water up for purposes of showering etc BUT will not be able to fill the pool until we have sufficient rains to get the river flowing.
The vegetation around the lodge is fynbos and has not been affected by the drought. It is still an amazingly beautiful spot.
Built from materials on hand and with lots of windows this lodge has spectacular views over the Karoo and surrounding mountains.
Spend your days exploring the trails which lead you through picturesque gorges dotted with ancient cycads. Swim in icy mountain pools or simply relax on the luxurious couch in front of a roaring log fire.
You will be amazed by the luxuries to be found in this remote mountain wilderness , sprung mattresses and a pool, to mention a few.
Stone lodge sleeps 7 in 5 single and 1 double bed. While the double bed is located in its own private room, the other beds are situated on raised “annexes” off the main lodge living area. The lodge is serviced prior to your arrival – All linen and cooking utensils are supplied, you only need to take food and clothes.
Access is via a steep mountain road which requires a 4×4 with low range and diff lock. For those who do not own the appropriate vehicle, transfers are available from reception at no extra cost.
Alternatively you could hike in via the Two Gorges hiking trail. The walk takes 4 to 5 hours in each direction. Slack packing is an option for a nominal fee.
Due to the high cost of servicing the lodge it is uneconomical for us to take bookings shorter than 2 nights. Alternatively you can pay an additional R600.00 service fee on a single night stay.
R2100 per night for 1-7 guests.
(Contact us directly for a quote on stays of more than 2 nights)
“In Season” rates apply between 15 December and 10 January.
A service fee of R600.00 applies to single night stays.
